Abstract

Hernández, Marcela A.; Guillermo Terán; Patricia L. Albornoz. 2010. “Morphology, anatomy and endomycorrhizas in the sporophyte of Doryopteris concolor (Pteridaceae)”. Lilloa 47 (1-2). Doryopteris Sm. is a genus with a distribution mainly American represented by 26 species. Seven species ocurr in Argentina, 5 of them grow in the Northwest. Doryopteris concolor (Langsd. & Fisch.) Kuhn is found from Central America to Argentina. The aim of this research was to characterize the morphology, anatomy and endomycorrhizas in the sporophyte of this species. Conventional anatomical and endomycorrhizal techniques were applied. The results show dorsiventral leaf blades, with polocytic, diacytic and anomo-cytic stomata. Glandular hairs are present on the abaxial lamina surface and on the petiole. The petiole is terete at base and distally semiterete, with 2 wings also in the distal portion, and the rhizome is solenodictiostelic. The adventicious roots present a primary diarch structure and advanced primary, with the cor tical tissue with esclerenquimatic cells. Endomycorrhizas and dark septate fungi were found into the roots and quantified. Spores of Glomus sp. were observed on the root. The anatomy of the sporophyte shows xeromorphic characters.
