Abstract

The author gives a key for the determination of the 42 species of Lepidium, describing them and illustrating their differential characters. It describes eight new species: L. grandifructum, L. kalenbornii, L. johnstonii, L. morrisonii, L. scabrifructum, L. demissum, L. danielsii and L. filisegmentum and one variety: L. cyclocarpum Thellung var. crassius; creates the new combination: L. abrotamifolium Turs. var. Fraseri (Thellung) Hitchcock.

Charles Leo Hitchcock (1902 - 1986) fue un zoólogo y botánico estadounidense. Descubrió decenas de especies de plantas y sus trabajos son citados ampliamente. Un salón de la University of Washington lleva su nombre.
