The author gives descriptions and determination of the species and varieties of the Ericaceae occurring in Argentina and determines their exact distribution.

Author Biography

Hermann Otto Sleumer

Hermann Otto Sleumer (1906-1993) fue un botánico neerlandés.

De 1944 a 1949 trabaja en la Universidad de Berlín; y luego se muda a Argentina, en Tucumán, siendo profesor de Botánica en el Instituto Miguel Lillo de la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, con su colega Kurt Hueck. Está allí hasta 1953 que regresa a los Países Bajos, trabajando en la Universidad de Leiden. Y de 1956 a 1971 es curador de su herbario.

De 1976 a 1977, está en EE. UU. siendo curador del Jardín Botánico Amazónico de Nueva York.
