Origin and domestication of maize

Abstract

The author studies the geographic origin, the South American centers of domestication (Pilcomayo, Paraná, Paraguay rivers basin, High Andes of the old Empires, central area on the south banks of the Amazonas, and other regions), and the relations between South American and Central American maize.
