Abstract

The author studies the center of origin of Medicago sativa L. and M. faleata L., the migration of M. sativa L., points out the contemporaneous ecological areas in South America (Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador and Uruguay) and the sporadic growing areas. He makes considerations for the future.
