A New Species of Osbeckia (Melastomataceae) from Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve, India

Resumen

Se describe e ilustra Osbeckia ulotricha (Melastomataceae), una nueva especie procedente de la Reserva de la Biosfera de Agasthyamala. La nueva especie presenta algunas similitudes morfológicas con Osbeckia yercaudensis Sarav. & Kaliam., pero se distingue por su hipanto subgloboso, cerdas verdaderas en la corona, el estilo con tricomas ascendentes y la cápsula protuberante. También se proporcionan los caracteres micromorfológicos del polen y las semillas de la nueva especie.
