Scientific-technical development of a year and a half of limnological research in lagoons of the Buenos Aires pampas

Abstract

From April-May 1965, and within a 4-year plan, extensive limnology work has been carried out in pilot areas of Pampas lagoons, until now in the depressed Pampas and in the southwestern area of the province of Buenos Aires ( Alsina Cochicó and Chained System south of Ventana). The works include hydrogeology, morphometric and physical limnology, water chemistry, primary bioproductivity, phyto and zooplankton, communities with floating and submerged plant substrate, organic matter of communities as a comparative record of biomass and ichthyology in its broadest sense, tending to estimate comparison of wealth (bioproductivity and production) that is, production of human interest, to the prognosis and improvement of the water body.
