Chaile. “Fluctuations of the physical and chemical variables of Salí, Vipos and Tapia rivers (Tucumán, Argentina)”. Lilloa 44 (1-2). In this contribution 20 physical and chemical parameters from Salí, Tapia and Vipos rivers were analysed, from samples obtained monthly between March 1998 and March 1999. The rivers showed different ionic compositions, determining the following types of waters: bicarbonated/sulfated - sodic/calcic; bicarbonated-calcic,sodic; sulfated calcic and chlorinated and/or sulfated sodic. pH varied between 6.8 and 8.6. According to the conductivity the mineralization fluctuated from middle in Vipos river to excessive in Tapia. The average of dissolved oxygen was, maintained above the 8 mgL-1, except for the emissary Salí in December 1998 and February 1999 with registers < 5 mgL-1. The waters are hard (Ca++ >20 mgL-1). The maximum values of manganese ranged between 74.3 – 426.4 µgL-1 in the emissary Salí river for August, October, December 1998 and January 1999 and Tapia and tributary Salí rivers in March 1998 with 63.7 and 85.3 µgL-1, respectively. Among the organochlorine pesticides methoxychlor and lindane were mainly detected in concentrations that did no exceed the tolerance limits.
