Abstract

The objective of this paper is the anatomic characterization of the leaf, root-hypocotyl, and seed. Peruvian material was studied.

The leaf blade pinnatifid to bipinnatifid. Striated cuticule. The epidermis with different size lobulated cells. Anfiestomatic. Anisocitic stomata. Three types of trichomes. Homogeneous mesophyll. Cells with mirosine in epidermis, mesophyll and bundles sheat. Root and hypocotyl constitute the succulent part of the plant. The root presents a diarc structure and cortical parenchyma with air chambers. The hypocotyl has unusual and secondary growth with abundant xylematic parenchyma and secondary cámbium with cortical anficribal vascular bundles. Seeds have three layered testa with mucilaginous epidermis and notorhizal embryo.
