Resumen

The author carries out a taxonomic study giving a key and descriptions of the six species of the genus Notholaena that inhabit Argentina: N. sinuata (Lag.) Kaulf., N. aurea (Poir.) Desv., N. buchtieniti Rosenst., N. obducta (Mett. ex Kuhn) Baker, N. squamosa (Gill. ex Hook. et Gray.) Lowe, and N. arequipensis (Maxon) and describes a new species from Paraguay: N. Hassleri.

Charles Alfred Weatherby

Charles Alfred Weatherby (1875-1949) fue un botánico estadounidense. Trabajó mucho en gramíneas, pero se concentró en helechos. Se une a la "American Fern Society" en 1912, siendo editor del "American Fern Journal", de 1915 a 1940, y presidente de la Sociedad de 1943 a 1944. Es probablemente mejor conocido como especialista en pteridófitas, aunque trabajó en otras áreas.
