Abstract

Analysis of the structure of a community of birds in the locality of Las Juntas, province of Catamarca (Argentina). Preliminary study?. In this work we analize the specific composition of the birds community of Las Juntas, department of Ambato, province of Catamarca (Argentina). The birds were captured by nets and marked by rings. The purpose of the analysis was to determined the relative abundance, the different trophic groups and the biogeographic distribution of the bird species. The most abundant species were: Mecocerculus leucophrys, Myioborus brunniceps, and Junco capensis. Their average relative abundance was 16,5%. In relation to the trophic structure of the community the most important were the insectivorous and the frugivorous-granivorous, They represent 66,7% wof the total species recorded and 89,2% of all the bird captured.
