?On the presence of a population of Lutra in Northwestern Argentina?. The doubtful systematic position of Lutra was the main purpose of this craneomorphological study and comparative observations to those of Lutra longicaudis and Lutra provocax. Measurements and descriptions of skulls of specimens from Tucumán, Salta and Jujuy were made, which suggest that this population may be considered as Lutra (canadensis) longicaudis, on the basis of the concept introduced by Amadon and Short (1976).
