Abstract

The first list of species of Odonata from Tucumán Province is presented. Seventy three species were recorded, including 13 new records for the province: 9 species of Anisoptera (Aeshnidae: Gynacantha adela, Remartinia luteipennis; Gomphidae: Phyllocycla argentina; Corduliidae: Gomphomacromia nodisticta; Libellulidae: Brechmorhoga nubecula, Erythemis attala, Erythrodiplax nigricans, Libellula herculea and Micrathyria venezuelae) and 4 species of Zygoptera (Coenagrionidae: Enallagma novaehispaniae; Lestidae: Lestes dichrostigma, L. pictus and L. spatula). The majority of the collection localities were from the Yungas ecoregion. Records from Chaco, Monte and Prepuna were poor or absent, which indicates that future research needs to focus on these areas. Of the 73 species that were recorded, 14 are known only as adults, showing the necessity for rearing larvae.
