Relationship between weight and surface of the home range in carnivores of Chile

The relationship between weight and the surface area of the home range in vertebrates has already been studied by ecologists. Since the databases used have not considered the carnivores present in Chile and other
Neotropical countries, characterized by a wide diversity of environments,
a correlationregression analysis was carried out for both logarithmically
transformed variables to determine if this relationship also occurs in this case. In agreement with previous studies, carried out for other species of
mammals present in other environments, it was also found that this re-
lationship was linear and allometric with a slope between 1.12 and 1.6, supporting its generality.
