Notes on biology of Oiketicus tabacillo Weyembergh

From the material collected in different oportunities in the province of La Pampa and from the evolution observed in the living elements contained in the hutches of these lepidopters it is evident that the process is overtaken in different periods and it may be summarized as follows: First cycle: The adults reach this state in December from hiberning larvae which pupate from the end of October to November. They spawn in January giving birth to the larvae of the first age towards the end of this month and beginning of February. Second cycle: During the winter they remain in spawn state from the middle of autum until October and then giving birth to the young larvae which nourish during the whole summer and pupate towards the end of February; the adults are born at the beginnig of March spawning in the middle of autumn.
