Abstract

The paper deals with the species of the Argentine sponges from the Parana and Uruguay rivers, describing three as new. Twelve species are mentioned from these waters, giving at the same time some further information about their morphology and growth in different environments, pointing out remarkable ecological features between the species of the upper Parana and Uruguay rivers, and the Paraguay-middle and Parana-lower rivers.
