Abstract

Five species of the genus Pseudomorpha Kirby have been found in Argentina. Four of them are here, redescribed. Of these, two were known as brasilian species (P. lacordairei Dejean and P. laevissima Chaudoir), another was wrongly supposed to come from Australia (P. confusa Notman), and finally P. argentina Steinheil, which was the only one previously known in this country. The new one (P. glabra sp. n.), from the Province of Santiago del Estero, is described. A key for the identification of the species is given, and some aspects of the systematic position of Pseudomorphinae are discussed.
