A revision of the genus Hypodynerus saussure (Hym., Eumenidae). I. The Hypodyne rus humeralis (Hal.) group

Abstract

After a short historical introduction the author devides the genus in 7 groups: H. humeralis (Hal.), H. ruficollis (Sauss.), H. arechavaletae (Brèth.), H. excipiendus (Spin.), H. labiatus (Hal.), H. caupolicanus (Sauss.) and H. chiliotus (Sauss.), including a key to separate them. This paper deals with the first group, for which a species key is given. H. humeralis (Hal.), H. andeus (Pack.), H. tarabucensis (Sauss.), H. obscuripennis (Sauss.), H. foersteri Soika and H. nigricornis (Rohwer) are redescribed, and two new species: H. torresi and H. akros are described. Figures are given for all the species and a complete bibliography is added.
