Abstract

The author describes two new species of the genus Telmatobius: T, barrioi sp.n. from the Sierra de Calilegua (+ 1.700 m), Jujuy province, and T. ceiorum sp.n. from La Banderita (+ 1.800 m), Catamarca province.

Both are forest species living at lower altitude than the other one (except the recently studied forms from Southern Argentina) (Cei, 1967). They differ strikingly from the North Argentinian forms by their poorly developed webbing and furthermore they can easily be distinguished one from the other by several characters.
