Complementary study on Gastrotheca christiani Laurent
Keywords:
Frogs, Gastrotheca christiani, morphology, taxonomyAbstract
The author gives a more complete description of Gastrotheca christiani, the males of which have been captured by Dr. A. Barrio since the discovery of the species. He does not dispute the affinities and compares it more especially with G. bifasciata bifasciata Vellard, of which he has a series from Peru (Col. Weyrauch.).
This form, described as a race of G. marsupiata, however, looks specifically distinct from it, but is very close to G. christiani, G. marsupiata marsupiata (not Duméril and Bibron) Vellard is actually a form not yet named, to which the author gives the name of G. bifasciata vellardi subsp. n.
