Since the discovery of the genus Gastrotheca in Argentina (G. christiani and G. gracilis) new observations have been made. The capture of fairly numerous males of G. gracilis and a few other females allowed a well-supported biometric comparison with G. christiani. Habitat, behavior, reproduction, birth, morphology and development were also studied. tadpoles in G. gracilis. In both species, females behave similarly during and after ?childbirth?. Next comes the description of the skeleton of G. gracilis compared to that of G. bifasciata from Peru, a species related to G. christiani. Finally a third Argentine species, G. chrysosticta, is described.
