This species was described by Ronderos on materials from the Santa Cruz Department, Bolivia. In his comments on the geographical distribution of the species of the genus Dichroplus of the elongatus group, he states that ?D. mantiquerae seems to have a more restricted distribution, being known until now, only in its typical locality; as well as intermedius that occupies the prairie area in the Santa Cruz Department in Bolivia?.
With this note, the presence of Dichroplus intermedius in Argentina is reliably documented, expanding its geographical distribution, since it has been found by the author in the western Argentine Chaco, in the area of Pozo Largo, 25 km from Joaquín V. González, prov. of Salta. Together with D. exilis they are the only two Dichroplus of the elongatus group found at the site.
