Detection of organophosphorus pesticides in food chains culminating in man?
Blood samples of three groups of bovids belonging to dairy settlements fed on pastures close to zones sprayed with organo-phosphorus pesticides, were analized. The purpose was to detect possible transferenee of these pesticides to the mentioned animals by measuring the inhibition that they produce in the plasma cholinesterase activity. This activity was measured using Michel?s Electrometric Method.
