Abstract

The asexual development of Pseudoparactis tenuicollis Mc Murrich, 1904 (Actiniaria: Actionostolidae) and some considerations on its ecology?

The reproductive biology is known for some species of Actiniaria; this paper deals on the reproduction of Pseudoparactis tenuicollis Mc Murrich, 1904. During the spring months, this species presents a rapid asexual reproduction and all this process takes place on the shell of the mollusk (Brachidontes rodriguezii). Some account of the ecology of this species and illustrations of the anatomy are added.
