Caracteres e métodos não morfológicos em sistemática

Taxonomy, non-morphologic systematicsResumen
Taxonomil species may be taken as inferences of biological species. The closeness of both conceptual levels depends upon the amount of information put into the description. Morphology by itself, when species are to be separated and classified may lead to serious, even gross mistakes. Physiological, ecological and etological data, as well as information at the molecular level are of utmost significance whenever an attempt at classification is made, and the meaning or evaluation of any given character as representative of a group should be taken into account. The circunseription of species and other systematic entities should not be the final goal of taxonomy, which will become much more meaningful if it tends to be based on an increasing number of biological data and traits.
