Abstract

?Two new species of Linoproductidae (Brachiopoda) and some regards about the Neopaleozoic of Uspallata, Western Argentina?. Costamulus amosi sp. nov. [=Cancrinella cf. farlevensis (Etheridge and Dunn) Amos, 1961] and Coolkilella keideli sp. nov. (Linoproductidae, Brachiopoda) from the Early Permian (Asselian) of Argentina are described and illustrated. The Tivertonia-Streptorhynchus biozone (Late Estefanian?) is pointed to occur at Calingasta-Uspallata basin. A new arragement of Upper Paleozoic lithologic entities of Uspallata is proposed, based on the interpretation of faunal assemblages. The Agua del Jagüel and Santa Elena formations are discussed. The lithostratigraphic units, Jarillal and Tramojo, are regarded to be the members of the Santa Elena formation.
