The fauna from El Paso Formation, Lower Carboniferous of the Precordillera in the San Juan province (Argentina)?. A recently discovered invertebrate fauna from El Paso Formation is described and figured. It is proposed herein a new biozone characterized by Rugosochonetes gloucesterensis (Cvancara) and Bulahdelia cf. myallensis Roberts. The age assigned to this biozone is Lower Carboniferous (Late Visean to Early Namurian), and let us date the base of the Levipustula Zone in Argentina.
