?La Clemira formation and the age of its metamorphism?. Small and spread outcrops of metamorphic rocks (described as hornfelses) are present in the northern region of Sierra de Ambargasta (Santiago del Estero province, Argentina). They are due to pelitic and fine sandy sediments and sometimes graywakes metamorphized by the contact of granitic intrusions. The age of the metamorphism is undoubtedly the same of the mentioned rocks. K-A dating gives a low Paleozoic age for the event.
