Abstract

?Presence of a subvolcanic manifestation of Ordovician-Devonian age in the Sierra de Famatina?. The ?Miranda Sur? area begins 2 km north of the ?Bordo Atravesado? (Cuesta de Miranda), the southern end of the Cordón de Famatina, about 50 km west-southwest of Chilecito (La Rioja, Argentina). Polymetallic deposits defined as ?subvolcanic? type have been known in different countries since ancient times. Lately, this knowledge has been widely disseminated, although there is some anarchy in the interpretation of this type of mineralization. In the Sierra de Famatina, associated with the Ordovician-Devonian eruptive cycle, some effects of this kind were detected
