Abstract

Sulphated efllorescences in the tertiary and cuartary formations Tucumán?. The formation of these sulphated salts results from the interactions that take place among interstratified salts or at least as a cement in sedimentites, during a process operated by the dissolution of the same and its later stage of evaporation in a low percentage of damp air environment. The original evaporites, mainly gypsum and halite, show an alkaline lacunar environment in a intermitent development during its continental fluvial deposition. Presumably because of the special way they were formed, such salts did not reach the character of important deposits, as to justify their commercial exploitation.
