Resumo

The authors have studied the germination of pollen grains in two species of Hibiscus, H. ficulens and H. panduraeformis. In them, as in other species of Malvaceae previously examined, pollen grains that develop more than one pollen tube (polysiphonated species) are observed. Branched pollen tubes were also made, although these were rare in H. panduraeformis. In both species the percentage of fertility is high.
