About the Cauliflory in the Annonaceae

Abstract

The author studies the cauliflory, i.e. the development of flowers from the lignified stem or branches in some species of Annonaceae of tropical South America. The different types are mentioned and several examples of cauliflory are studied and morphologically interpreted. Its taxonomic value is consired rather small.
