A monograph of the lychen genus Placopsis Nyl.

Abstract

The author presents a systematic study of all known species of the aforementioned genus, based on the examination of the original types and copious material preserved in the herbaria of various institutions and private collections. Phytogeographic problems related to the distribution of this and other genera of lichens of apparently southern origin (bipolar, bicentric distribution, etc.) are discussed.
