Abstract

Jaborosa rotacea var. rotacea and Jaborosa rotacea var. tucumanensis, belong to the Jaborosae Miers group and coexist in Tucumán Province (Argentina). The results of a preliminary analysis of the leaves and flowers flavonoids are reported.

Foliar chromatographic patterns of Jaborosa rotacea var. rotacea and Jaborosa rotacea var. tucumanensis are similar and yielded quercetin-3-glucoside, quercetin-3-rutinoside, quercetin-3,7-diglucoside. Floral chromatographic patterns show cualitative and quantitative differences with predominance of glycosilated flavonoids, methoxylated in C-4?, one of them, diosmetin, in Jaborosa rotacea var. tucumanensis.
