Abstract

?Chemical and physical characteristics of Analcite that occurs as a constituent in fossils of the Chubut Group, in the province of Chubut, are described?. Chemical composition determined is: SiO - 57,54, Al203- 20,90, Na30- 10,00, K>20- 0,33, H20- 8,52, MgO- 0,80, Ca0- 0,30, Fe203- 1,00, and TiO2- 0,60. Fusibility is 4 to 5. Hardness is 5,5, Specific gravity is 2,19. Unit cell determinated by X- Ray diffraction is 13,696 A. All these physical properties are different to Analcites that occurs as a primary constituent of some igneous rocks.
